Profile of Class of 2010

I got a hold of the new Lafayette viewbook with some stats on the class of 2010. Here goes:

Middle 50% SAT 1 Scores:
Verbal: 600-690
Math: 640-730
76% were in the top tenth of their class (versus 62% last year), 96% in the top quarter (versus 95% last year).

Applied /// Accepted /// Enrolled

Men 3295 /// 1139 /// 339
Women 2579 /// 1026 /// 285
Total 5874 /// 2165 /// 624

Note that 716 more men than women applied. The acceptence rate for men was 34.6% and the acceptence rate for women was 39.8%. They received 146 more applications than the prior year, but accepted only 19 more students. The number of students enrolling however increased by 26. The overall acceptance rate declined from 37.5% to 36.9%.

joinville,

Thank you for sharing this information. When I get back to campus in late August, I'll see if I can get my hands on a more detailed analysis of this past admissions cycle.

Peace,

J

ive been waiting for those numbers for a long time (im a bit of a patriot league junkie). thanks!

i do have to say that someone, somewhere made a mistake with the 62/95 breakdown last year, though. those were enrolled student--not accepted student--numbers.
