<p>What does it mean when you say a certain school is a profile school?</p>

<p>A “Profile School” is a school that REQUIRES that the CSS Profile be completed along with the FAFSA for financial aid consideration.</p>

<p>Almost all schools require the FAFSA. Some schools also require the Profile.</p>

<p>From what I remember almost every single Private College requires the PROFILE.</p>

<p>That is NOT true. Most schools that require the Profile are private schools (some publics do as well…U of Virginia for example). But there are THOUSANDS of colleges in the United States and a huge chunk of those are private. I’m not sure of the exact number of schools that require the Profile, but it’s not a high percentage.</p>

<p>However it’s not 100% reliable-- Butler is on there and on Butler’s website it says they take only FAFSA. But it’s a start anyway.</p>

<p>All the schools I am applying to aside from my state school require it..maybe that’s why i thought so.</p>
