Profs or TA's

Part of the appeal of Wash U is its relatively small size, yet it seems like there are still a lot of TA's. What's a realistic "average" class size, and how often does one have TA's rather than Professors?

I haven't heard of a regular class (besides English Composition which every freshman has to take) that has TAs teaching the main courses. Even in the large math, psych, and science classes, the professors do the teaching. TAs lead subsections, however.

Yes, this has been my experience as well.

So are there opportunities at WashU to deveop close mentor relationships with professors? Struggling with the WashU v. LAC decision, and this is a major consideration.

Absolutely CollegeSearching - It's what Wash U does best. ( I have a senior there) You get the best of both worlds there - University resources with personal attention of LAC's.

I actually just chose WashU over a couple of top LAC's. I'd definitely second lizschup's comment.
