Program in Algorithmic and Combinatorial Thinking (PACT) acceptance rate

I am interested in pact program, how hard is it to get in? After registration, there is no confirmation. There also has no on line account to check status, is it normal? Appreciated if you can share your application experience with me. Thanks.

Hey @supersammy ! I attended PACT in 2019 and you are correct in the fact that there’s no confirmation after registration. I submitted the form around late February last year and I heard back from them on the 4th March. Please don’t worry about the status. You can always email them if you’re unsure though, the admission staff are very friendly and they can help you fairly quickly. Good luck with your application

@LA 2025, Thank you very much for the information. I did get an email after my application is complete later on. How hard is it to get in the program? I am all A student. Also, there is no accommodation is available, how to find a place to stay for non locate student? Thanks.

I am a fellow applicant as well, I’ve just started my personal essay. I think the program is relatively prestigious, and as long as you showed a great amount of unique passion for math/computer science, you have a good chance. In terms of living situations, I heard some students are renting apartments together and splitting the price. Also, how long was your essay? I am struggling to narrow down what I want to talk about, so some tips would be very helpful.

@lazarium My essay was around 1 page. I mostly talked about my views on math and the reasons for why I applied to the program. I’m not sure if my essay is good, since this is one of my first times writing one.
