I received an invitation to some information session on Yale, and it is in Durham, which is like 4 or 5 hours from my house. Does anyone know anything about these information sessions, and does anyone know if it would be worth a 4 hour drive?

Yeah, I'm ****ed about that, too. Why wouldn't they have any info sessions in NJ?!?! The closest ones to me are in NYC and Philly, each an hour away.

Um I don't think it's worth a four hour drive.

These sessions are SO not worth it. I went to one for Harvard last fall, and it was a one-hour slide show and presentation that taught me about as much as I could have learned from the viewbook. I really wouldn't bother again.

Will they know if you didn't attend?

How will colleges know if you didn't attend the info session? There is no sign-in or anything at these sessions, and each personalized "invitation" is probably sent to a few thousand high school students. The will neither know nor care whether you attended.

Not necessary and won't affect your chances. It just allows you to find out more about Yale.
