Programming

My dad works as a programmer for a company during the day and works on his own company (tiny startup) at night. I was thinking of helping him program over the summer as a job. Would it be feasible to put this on my college app as a realy job, which it will be, or will they automatically dismiss it knowing Im working for my father. Better yet, do they need to know Im working for my father? Thanks

I do it. Except, I started at 12 and already worked at many other companies and currently own two multi thousand dollar companies... whcih I am at work right now, except at lunch break. :P beats mcdonald's and I work both fulltime almost cause they are very large

It only helps if you are fluent in like 10 languages and don't use any WYSIWYG editor... just a normal text editor like editpad or notepad2 and have the syntax memorized.

What does your dad with? Java? .NET technologies? C++? C?

^How do you start businesses like that? Just wondering, of course. I need some type of job this summer and I'm out of ideas :( .

You guys sound like you might be interested in the computing olympiad. Great program! Free online training materials and contests, and the chance at a free summer camp, or even a free trip to the int'l competition. www.usaco.org
