Programs and internships.

Hi all,

I am a high school sophomore and everyone around me seems to be talking about the college application. I am thinking about taking up volunteering, academic program, or an internship starting this year. I am mainly interested in Science, Math, finance/economy and (maybe) tech. Some programs I know consist of CTY, Envision, and the American Red Cross. There are also some camps held on college campuses. Will people please comment on any program/opportunity that you would recommend? Lots of thanks and know that all your help is invaluable to me.

Where do you live? For example, if you live in California, COSMOS is a great program (I’m certainly applying to it; but it’s pretty pricey of you’re out of state). There are also a lot of really great programs at colleges in the East Coast, if you live there.

Here[/url”>Loading...]Here is a list of free programs (most of which are also included in the other list).

I would recommend attending a free selective program if you can get into one (although sometimes expensive programs have scholarships available). Expensive programs can still give you a valuable experience, but as far as college admissions they show privilege more than merit and it would be just as good to get a job at home.

Thanks so much! That was so helpful

Cheers,
Krissy
