I've been making a list of summer programs I would like to attend, but another more thurough review made me realize that most of them are for the summer after junior year. The only one I have condensed it down to is the NIH internship, but I'd like to know if there are any other options.

I'm especially interested in programs in the sciences/medicine/research etc.

(Oh, and can anyone tell me why Baylor's summer science program starts in May? No one I have ever met has had school end in May, and thus I had to rule it out because it has to start so early -_-;)

Yeah, I've looked through that thread already. Unfortunately, I didn't exactly find that many programs that I think would fit me because most of the discussion was about TASS and CTY, and I've already done CTY and I'm not interested in TASS, so I decided to make a thread more specific to me.

Take the challenge to compete with rising seniors. I did and I don't regret it. Just find a lot of programs to apply to if they have a preference for rising seniors. I think I applied to about 8-10 of them. I don't remember exact numbers. Needless to say though, I got rejected from most but got accepted into 2 of them. One of them being NASA SHARP so it is possible. On that note, try Summer Science Program as well. You can PM if you like.

BTW do you have to be in TX to go to Baylor cuz apparently they never sent me a decision ever?

harvard has a program for rising juniors, but their summer school is expensive and it's harvard undergrad... you'll miss more than you'll hit (I went to it last summer, as a rising senior).

I don't know, I did Harvard SSP as a sophomore/rising junior, and I loved it. It's expensive, but they give out great financial aid. Really, it was the best experience of my life, and it's a ton of fun, too. If you do it, just pick classes that you like, though, and it'll all be good. You get to meet great new people, and the Harvard campus is amazing!

Baylor’s summer program starts earlier than other programs because it is in Texas, and many school districts in Texas run on an earlier calendar (out in May, start again beginning of August).
It looks like Baylor’s program for summer 2010 will run June 7-July 2.
