i believe you apply during your 3rd year. acceptance is based on academic history as well as letters of recs from USC profs. if you are admitted, you may take graduate courses starting your 4th year, where you will graduate with a bachelors. the next year you will already have taken some credits towards your masters so you will be able to finish the degree in 1 year rather than the typical 2.

basically you will earn a BS/MS in a total of 5 years as opposed to the traditional 6. also, i believe it exempts you from taking the GRE, which is a huge plus.

I’m going to be a senior next year and applied and got into the PDP program for engineering. As Jose said, you apply your junior year (when you have taken 64 units but not exceeded 96 units at USC, not counting AP units). Basically, as long as you have a certain GPA and have 2 teacher recs you are pretty much in. For engineers you need to have a 3.2, but the generalized PDP site says you need a 3.0, so I guess it depends on your major. Once you get in, you can obtain your masters in 5 years instead of the 5-1/2 to 6 years it would normally take. For engineers (and I think any of the PDP programs) the unit requirements to graduate with a Masters is lessened. You have to take 2-3 less classes to obtain your masters. And again like Jose said, IF you want you can start taking 500 level classes senior year and you don’t have to take the GRE

You can get a MBA right?

Like say if your majoring in Economics and you want to get a MBA…thats possible right…

I’m in the PDP program too, for engineering, and I’m going to be a senior next year. Each school at USC runs their program a bit differently, so you should definitely check with the department you’re interested in for specific details.

What (if any) financial aid is available for students in this program?

You don’t get any extra money for being in the program. You save some money by doing a master’s degree in just one year though.

Does anyone have any experience with the BA/MCM?
