Project Runway 2023

Did not hear a prize. I also loved the gender neutral look.

Did we see Viktor pack his bags and leave? Any chance Christian saves him but it wasn’t shown? Probably too early for that

I thought the same thing - somehow I don’t think we’ve seen the last of him competing - maybe Anna will have a breakdown because someone said the word ‘baby’, self-eliminate, and he gets to come back.

I think this episode it was the “producers pick” who was eliminated. I think it should have been Anna, but they are leaving her in hopes she has a breakdown with missing her baby and produces more drama for the show. Likewise, last episode I feel Laurant had the losing look, but they overall like her designs better and did not judge based on the challenge at hand.

Finally caught up with all the episodes. I love seeing some of my favorites from past seasons like Rami, Mila, Fabio, Viktor, Korto, Bishme, Kayne. I had no idea who the person was that left in the first episode.

I really like Fabio’s (and before he left- Victor’s) aesthetic. I feel that although I really enjoyed Rami, he hasn’t changed much.

I personally think Anna needed to go last episode.

I thought the right designer won and the right designer was eliminated this week.

I also thought Korto’s temper tantrum was puerile; whether the judges were unfair praising Anna’s look (and I agree with the judges), Korto’s beef is with the judging, not Anna.

I didn’t understand why some of the designers were mad at Anna - be mad at the judges!

I thought Hester’s outfit looked cheap, which was too bad because she did such a great job on the challenge before.

I agreed that Brittany should have won.

Literally just finished watching. The right person won and was sent home.

Korto went a little off the edge at Anna as stated above. It’s clear they don’t like more than Anna’s ruffle repeats. I think more than one of them don’t like her.

I was glad Fabio spoke up about the judges comment about “boring” draping and minimalism

Also I REALLY enjoy the attitude of the woman from the first season. She seems to be very glad half full!!

Agree with winner and who was sent home. Hester’s designs were never my cup of tea but this garment was poorly constructed.

This challenge was really interesting and one I do not recall seeing before. I also really like Kara Saun’s garment.

That’s her name - I can never remember it! I think she is such a pleasant person!

To me one of the most interesting things about this challenge (which I happened to love) is that it was Christian’s idea! As a former super successful contestant he likely saw this challenge as a way for designers to differentiate themselves based on design/construction rather than fabric choice. Kudos to the show for taking his input!

And FWIW I agree that if any contestants feel the ruffles are overused their complaint should be directed towards the judges and not Anna.

I agree that the challenge concept was a good one! One bolt of fabric, even playing field.

I was impressed that the designers split up the fabric at the start of the challenge with zero drama. I was waiting for one or more people (nobody specifically) to insist that they needed more, that there might not be enough fabric left for the last taker, or something along those lines. It may speak to the fact that they are all seasoned competitors.

This week was a perfect opportunity to “show who you are as a designer” and (while I’m not a fan) Anna did just that, as did a few others. I think there’s a storm brewing around Anna and we have just seen the tip of the iceberg.

I was rooting for Brittany on this outfit, I really thought her “aesthetic” shone through perfectly. I cried when she shared the story of having a stroke on an airplane. Scary stuff. Really makes you take notice of life.

I didn’t like the winning outfit at all and was surprised she was in the top group, never mind the winner. I particularly didn’t like the top stitching down the legs.

I did like the concept of all using the same fabric, with no restrictions. I was surprised more didn’t use embellishments like the zippers and the black fabric.

If a designer can’t make an outfit with 10 yards of fabric than they should go home. That’s a lot of fabric to cover one skinny little model.

I liked the one that was also in the top with the hood.

I also loved her outfit and her story  and the direction it made her career go - towards health, wellness, and related wearable clothing.

I agree with the judges’ decisions; however, I wasn’t really a fan of Anna’s outfit. I am really surprised people didn’t do more to improve on the fabric— such as the white stitching that Brittany did. That was a smart idea. I didn’t actually dislike Rami’s- I liked the zippers. I was never a fan of Hester’s designs.

Fun challenge that they all seemed into. It was a little odd to have the runway in a high school hallway - but also was cool.

Tonight was one if those nights when Nina really seemed stuffy. Lighten up Nina! I love that Fabio gave her a little kick back.

Agree with the winning and losing looks. Brittany needs to thank Kayne for such a lousy look. I didn’t think Fabio deserved to be in the bottom

I agree with the losing look and that the right team won. I did really like the first 3 looks of the winning team- I don’t know why Nina didn’t like the Trapper Keeper pants. I liked the white pants and also liked how everyone incorporated the orange fabric

100% loved this runway! The enthusiasm was contagious! And for the first time in 20(?) seasons I picked the winner and the loser immediately. I’m really enjoying the camaraderie this season. I assume it’s because the designers are older and established so the immaturity just isn’t there.

Bring on the next challenge!

MOMA PS 1 is actually part of the Museum of Modern Art. It is housed in a former NYC public high school. PS 1 was originally founded by an organization that focused on reusing abandoned/underused buildings as artist spaces.
