Project Runway 2023

I loved Laurence’s leather jacket. Rami’s was a little safe, and Bishme’s was a little out there for me. I did not care for Praje’s or Kara Shaun’s feather thing. If she had just the dress, it would have been stunning.

I liked the last episode better!

Latest episode musings…I think Korto buried herself by criticizing the judges, but I don’t think she cared that much, and has been quite vocal the entire season. I support her expressing herself. I quite liked her outfit, even though I did feel like the pants swallowed her model. But it was a unique look and I think considering the short amount of time, I think it was well made.

I actually liked Brittany’s look, although I don’t think it met the challenge. I could find nothing “modest” about it at all.

Oh, Bishme…ugh. So awful. In so many ways. I actually think he should’ve gone home. I think Korto’s rant gave him the pass.

Love Laurence’s look. I too wondered (like Brandon) how you get in/out, and I wish that would have been addressed. Her work is always so outrageously chic!

Didn’t care for Prajje’s look, but I want to see more of his work.

Didn’t care for Rami’s look, and couldn’t care if I see more from him. His work is beautiful but uninspiring. To me.

I agree that Brittany’s look did not meet the challenge but neither did Rami’s. His signature drape was not “oversized” and has been done by him many times before.

I think I was in ‘opposite week’ this week:

I usually don’t like Brittany’s work and really liked hers this week. I think she should have won. (and then go home next week as I haven’t liked her work all season)

I’m bored with Lawrence and I know she’s the favorite of the judges and think she will win, but she never pays attention to the challenge and just does what she wants.

Didn’t like Rami at all and I think he had the easiest combo with fitted and oversized. Any cape would have worked, or oversized bottom and fitted top.

I liked Prajje’s (with the origami boxes, right?). I thought it was classic and edgy, his challenge.

I liked Korto’s outfit. Loved the pants, jacket was okay and met the challenge.

I think Rami should have gone. His outfit was boring and didn’t meet challenge.

When I saw Brittney’s outfit, I thought to myself, “how could it be modest and sexy?” But when she said she could defend her look, and I heard her thought process, I agreed that she met with the challenge. I think she should have won.

While I think Laurence’s look was nice, I don’t think she should have won. I am getting bored with her one trick pony leather jackets.

I thought Prajee’s colors reminded me of either Spider-Man or my kid’s Transformer toys. I didn’t like it, but not enough to send him home.

I did not like Bishme’s outfit. It was terrible. It was like he took a step backwards (by several years) and was designing some outfits when he was on his original season. I can’t believe he bedazzled the top. Made it so cheap.

Korto’s outfit wasn’t that bad for me. I thought the fabric choice was bad. What I think got her sent home was her attitude. I have been growing tired of her rants and her inability to take constructive criticism.

Rami’s outfit was uninspiring. And why a basic black fabric when Mood has amazing fabric to choose from.

Just caught up tonight. Honestly I also think Rami or Bishme should have gone before Korto - she just wasn’t going to vibe with these judges. I did really like Laurent’s design - I feel the competition is hers to lose.

I like Bishme, but his pink dress was really bad. But I think the judges (or producers) see something more, in him vs Korto, a designer who already has her style/POV. I loved Korto’s pants!

I actually liked Korto’s pants as well!

This past week’s challenge was hard for me to decide who should win. I liked all except Prajees look. Brittney’s was a little “referential” as Nina said— and when they put a side by side of Harry Styles and Brittney’s look, I would say Nina was being kind in saying that! Her pants, although I didn’t care for the fabric, were really well made. I liked Laurent’s look as well. I thought Rami’s was elegant, but it would have been better for me if it wasn’t a one-shoulder look. Bishme’s was really well tailored, although I disagreed with the judges- I did not like the color. Reminded me of Kermit the Frog.

I think it helped that Bishme had a well-muscled model. I didn’t like the hat.

I was really surprised at Laurence - I thought she was going to kill it this week.

I didn’t care for Brittany’s outfit and the fact that it had basically been already done (the pics of Harry S and Timothy C)

Oh yeah - forgot about the hat😂. That was terrible!

I was fine with the challenge topic - I didn’t love any of the designs though!

Do the judges have a soft spot for Brittany?

I didn’t like Brittany’s outfit at all. I didn’t think it was in any way designer or original. Or runway.

They knew who they were going to keep and cut. Lawrence could have sent a model out in a t-shirt and jeans and been safe.

I like Brittany, but I don’t think she has much original stuff. And the judges know and have even said it.

Just binge watched it all! Pretty much agree on the judges final decisions all the way through.
I liked Korto’s designs for the most part (not all) but I’ve got to say how much is a mentorship (one of the main prizes) going to help someone who thinks they already know everything? I appreciate the “sticking to my aesthetic” but there is a fine line between that and refusing to grow with expert advice. The judges I think started walking on eggshells at some point to appease her and then just decided to end it.

I just watched the avante grade challenge which determined the final 3. I was kind of surprised and kind of not!

FINALLY watched! Laurent and Bishme (?) deserved to go on for sure. I think Rami or Brittany could have gone. Again (it seems) Brittany gets a bit of a break. I’m not against her but I think the other 2 WAY out perform her.

Rami seems like such a sweet guy.

I think (think) that Brittney is being groomed as a potential winner because she could get the most use of the CFDA mentorship - everyone else seems pretty deep into their career, whereas she’s truly just getting started in athleisure wear.

I think Rami is technically heads above Brittney, but I find his designs boring and not very innovative.

Laurance was a done deal for the finale, as was Bishme.

I’ve enjoyed every moment of this season. I love the comradery & the designs (even some of the bad ones). I didn’t like that the judges seem to flip flop what they’re looking for depending on who is on the chopping block. So disrespectful to the designers.

I agree with so much of what you said! And funny because I was thinking when watching - when for the 1000th time they repeated the prize package…"do these already decently successful designers want a “mentorship with the CFDA?”

I was wondering about the mentorship too so I finally looked up CFDA. Looks like they do a lot for business end from PR, branding, manufacturing to international sales. That’s a great prize!

Let’s be real. The judges are there for our entertainment alone. Who wins will be whoever production wants to win.
