Project Runway is Back

Where are my Project Runway peeps?

I was dozing during the last episode but did see who was eliminated and was sad to see Bones go. I thought his design was stunning but having a photoshoot rather than runway introduced other elements for the judges to evaluate and I guess this is where Bones fell short.

I liked Christian’s send off with a durag.

Thought I had responded!

And a woman final 4 it is.

I was sort of thrilled that Chantel got another win under her belt. Also because I thought Chastity seemed a little angst about wanting to beat her. I did not care for Chastity’s design. The model seemed super fun! Christian looked like a midget next to her!

I also ADORED Bones giving Christian the do-rag. Bones was a sweet guy. Very confident but IMO not overly so.

The episode was all the best things about fashion design…editorial photos! I thought the choices of “props” had to have been the oddest collection of castoffs ever! I was delighted that Shantall scooped the ladder and even changed her design to accommodate it. The photos were wonderful. I used to watch America’s Next Top Model, so the photo shoot aspect was especially pleasing to me. I’m not a fan of the drama of the ‘mean kids’ - I mean, duh, it’s a competition for goodness sake! Coco Rocha is amazing, and she did not disappoint, didn’t phone it in and fully gave it her all!

Bring on the next episode!

I forgot to mention, as a mom, I wept when baby Franco said “Mama” over and over for Shantall. What a sweet moment!

Zero surprise at this week’s results. When you do something so often, the specialness is eroded.

Amen. No surprise at all.

I agree. Completely expected, ho hum, no surprise.

I knew in the olden days they only had three finalists but had gone to four, so was surprised that this was another ‘elimination’ week (when they said last week they were ‘going to fashion week’).

Oh, now I remember…they pretend they are going to eliminate one and then don’t.

I wonder if it’s an escape clause in case there’s someone who just really messes up in the challenge? But even though I suspected all would go on, it would have been really difficult to eliminate one of them.

I had the same thoughts. I couldn’t recall there being 4 showing at NYFW. Turns out there have been 7 seasons with 4 finalists through season 17. I also seem to recall that they’ve eliminated a person just before the final runway. Does anyone else remember that?

This was an interesting list. Not sure I agree with all the rankings.

Really nice flash back to some favorite - and not favorite designers! I always had a deep love for Dmitri (?)

But Mondo - for me, always and above.

Oh, but this week! I of course just wanted Chantel safe. They certainly slanted the show to look like she might not come through. I think Coral has my fav look. It was cool and gorgeous.

I personally did not care for Chastity’s. I thought it was kind of boring and did not stand out.

Oh, I could have easily. On the flip side, there was one design that IMO was far above the other 3. Whether she can sustain that for the final is the question.

You’re not going to share?? !

At least once in the past when they do this they have them all make collections and then present best piece when first return to NY and one is eliminated at that point.

I was surprised at how many designers I didn’t remember at all though there was a period of time that I stopped watching. The designers were not all that compelling and it got somewhat repetitive. Even Tim’s Make it Work stopped working for me.

I love Mondo too - I even have a sweater of his. I also adore Christian not only for his winning looks but for how he’s parlayed his win into a business that seems to be very intent on changing how fashion is viewed.

According to that article I must have started watching around season 5 or so. But also may have missed a season or two - especially when the show changed networks. I never thought I’d like it without Tim and Heidi but Christian is very likeable and really has both a tough and relatable relationship with the contestants.

Are Tim and Heidi still doing their PR 2.0 show??? I think I watched that once or twice but not for awhile. Can only watch so much!!

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the looks of this last challenge. I’m pretty sure I’ve seen a dress very similar to Chasity’s, and I’m just not a fan of Kristina’s looks. I knew right away all 4 would move forward, but I also expect there to be a “one of you will be eliminated” moment. There had better be some spectacular looks on the final runway or I’ll have to call this season not filled with thrilling concepts. I still love the show, probably always will.

@abasket yes, Making the Cut is still showing, and in fact they (Tim & Heidi) recently were spotted somewhere shooting a scene (I didn’t want to know where, so purposefully didn’t read the article).

Wasn’t crazy about the black dress. I didn’t like the trim and it just wasn’t special enough for the challenge.

I love Christian’s style! His suggestions are usually right.

I’d completely forgotten the Gunn/Klum remake. That probably means something though I’m not sure what exactly.
