Projected Merit Scholarship

I am a Kelley Direct admit applicant with a 3.978 W gpa and a 1420 SAT and I was wondering in what range would my merit scholarship be. I am an OOS applicant living in Michigan.

Your stats are pretty solid. As long as you applied by November 1, you’ll definitely get the Dean’s scholarship, which ranges from 1-11k per year. You should be in at least the top half of that range.

It’s going to be difficult to get anything more than that, but you might have a shot at a smaller scholarship through the SSA.

S is OOS with 34 ACT (superscore) and unweighted 4.0, lots of ECs with leadership. He got the Deans Scholarship at $11K plus eligibility for SSA and Hutton Honors invitation.

Thank You guys so much! I also had a question on what my chances are to get into the Hutton honors college via petition. Are my scores high enough?

It seems like you would have a decent chance of getting in via petition because your test score is very close, but I honestly don’t know.

It’s also definitely worth trying to get into Hutton because being in Hutton allows you to take the honors versions of some of the early business classes. Some of the honors classes are better and/or grade easier than the regular versions, but some are just extra work for no reason. Having the flexibility to take the honors classes would be nice, but it’s not a deal-breaker for choosing IU in my opinion. Definitely worth the petition though if you are considering IU.

@gcissports

I was just curious. Was the invitation to the Hutton Honors in the letter with the 11k Deans scholarship? My son got the direct admit to Kelley and the 11k scholarship, but no mention of Hutton Honors. Thanks

@euve69 same here, no Hutton with merit aid.

@frozencustard

Not a big deal. My son had a 32 ACT 33 superscore and a 94.8 GPA. I was just curious if I missed something and we were supposed to apply to Hutton but I feel better now since I know it was not on our end.

@euve69 maybe the 94.8 doesn’t get you to the 3.9 you would need, but you could petition, not for the scholarship but for everything else.
