Prom advice needed!

<p>I'm thinking about asking this girl to prom. We have known each other since middle school, and are casual friends, even though until this semester I hadn't seen her much for the past 2 years. I've stopped by her house to say hello before while walking my dog (she lives really close to me, and I walk my dog by her house frequently). I don't have a crush on her or anything, and I just want to go to as friends. Is it sufficient to just walk up to her door and ask her with flowers, or should I do something more elaborate? And if so, what? And should I mention that I want to go as friends, or just leave that out?</p>

<p>I'm not sure about her, but I would be flattered by flowers or anything because I don't expect to be asked to prom by anybody with any gift. :) go for it!</p>

<p>You said you don't 'have a crush on her"? Make sure she understands that it's just as friends, because flowers would be very sweet, but could give her the wrong impression...</p>

<p>Perhaps drop by with your dog so she could fawn over him. Meanwhile, you could casually ask her if she would like to accompany you to the prom.</p>
