Do most people get limos for junior prom? I am in not a really bad financial situation, but it would cost around $150 for both of us to go if we split the cost of a 12 person limo with 5 other couples. I think it'd be fun, but I don't mind too much, but I don't want my date to feel left out as she is a really good friend of mine. The alternative to a limo is my mom driving us around which isn't nearly as fun...lol so what's the verdict?

I don't know...but my friends got a stretch hummer for their 8th grade graduation...so I'm sure junior prom permits limos.

go for the limo haha

a stretch hummer? that is the biggest waste of space, air and gas in the world! (hyperbole - but yeah) and 8th grade graduation? sighh...people want to grow up too fast. I remember people at 6th grade graduation (we had a junior high system back then) would wear full out prom dresses, get their hair and nails done....how old were we back then? 11

I'd go for the cheaper option - but that's just me because I don't like to make a big deal about proms and such. I also think limos are kind of gaudy...meh...

The alternate is that my mom drives me, my date, my friend, and his date. Do you think that's okay or will we be called losers and have tomatoes thrown at us?

dude...tomatoes are hot!

umm..really i don't think people will care all that much...It's been done before, many a time...unless your school is really "uppity" or whatever...
I don't know...everyone at my school was dropped off for the sophomore semi (which ended up being very prom-like)....and people laughed at the few kids with the limos....not sure if it's the same for junior prom...

If you split the cost I think that a limo is find because then your not out doing the some of the seniors, but next year at the sen prom make sure that you go even bigger (like pay for the limo yourself so it would be just the two of you).
Other wise I agree with LadyinRed, proms just aren't my thing.

yeah, i agree that limos are ridiculously expensive...and you only need it for the trip there and back! Anyway, for my junior prom, we rented a coach bus, we probably got 50 people on the bus, and it only cost $10 a couple....and it was nice because the couples got some privacy with the two seat thing...we're getting a limo this year, though...:-/

limos are for senior prom

get a car service for junior prom, much cheaper

ummm get a party bus =P they are rather expensive tho, about 250-300 bucks per person and they fit 25ish but are SOOO much fun =P

i went to junior prom in my friend's mom's car... but for senior prom def in a limo.. it's up to you but i would save the money for something else and do the whole limo thing next year when prom matters more.

PS don't forget to get your date a corsage!

I need ideas for after prom... what are you all doing

afterparty

It's nice to have someone driving that isn't your parent.... but you could always wait til your senior prom for a limo. Being driven by your parents isn't uncommon and you won't be made fun of. Could you get a ride with any of your friends?

On a side note...
Last year it was my junior prom and my sisters senior and we took a Bently. A friend of our family runs a rental and chauffeur company and his graduation gift to my sister was a free day. Being the nice person that she is the two of us went rather than her and her date... the whole day from hair to makeup to dinner and after party we had sooooo much fun. It would have been nicer if we had a car which could hold lots of people but I guess it was the only car left not being rented out. Still- tons of fun!

Good luck and don't worry about it!
