Prom Themes

At school we are trying to think of some prom themes, of course the typical themes are named off every year, and we are looking for some creativity. One possibility would be Rumble in the Jungle. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Our school always rotates the same three themes (one of them being "A Night in Paris"). However, our club, Class of '08, have come up with pretty good ideas that are in pending rhigt ow. Here they are:
Masquerade
Mardi Gras
(or if that terminology doesn't fly,) "Carnival"

We had an Egyptian theme, A Night in Paris, A Night to Treasure, Casino Royale. I'll post later if I can think of more that our school has done in the past.

class of 007 --> james bond
duh :p

haha yea our school is doing the james bond theme as well

A good one for seniors this year is 007, seeing that that is the graduation year and there's a lot you can do with it, involving the different movies & such.
I, personally, did not like that theme, so we ended up compromising and are having an "Evening of Elegance" which is more classy than usual.
Last year we had "Roarin' 20s" which went well with the building we used.
It's good to kind of get a feel for the place you're having it at, that's sort of what we worked off.

OR if you're anything like NJ, and now can't have food served in school with sugar as 1 od the 1st 4 ingerdients, fight the power and have it "Candyland" themed.

What type of decorations go along with the James Bond themes?

I think ours is going to be New York. The place we booked is overlooking the city skyline so I think it's appropriate.

the junior class is throwing a 007-themed prom as well.. haha, creative? they booked a 3-hour cruise in the harbor but are holding a "mocktail hour" pre-party in a decked-out cafeteria. it's not much compared to what you stateside kids are used to, but it's a pretty big deal for us. prom is usually at a base club or something similarly boring.

last year the theme was a night in paris. again, points for originality.

Ours was Old Hollywood, but it really didn't matter what the theme was because people wore whatever they wanted anyways. And we didn't have much in terms of decoration (since we rented a place that was already very decorated).

We don't have themes, and our prom is always held at school, which sounds so lame but it's actually a nice tradition (my school used to be a residential [url="<a href="http://www.wis.edu/aboutwis/facilit_rentals.asp%22%5Dmansion%5B/url">http://www.wis.edu/aboutwis/facilit_rentals.asp"]mansion[/url</a>]; people rent it for weddings sometimes... and, of course, the "humor coach" scene in Borat was filmed in room 205 ;)).

wow, cruise in the harbor is nothing? Our prom used to be in the school gym for years, but the last two have been in a public rec center/gym in the next town over. I wish it was still at school, its way more convenient.

anyways, i don't know the theme yet.

ours is decades this year,, which is pretty lame and unoriginal
but i dont really care because i bought the most gorrrrgeous vintage 50's party dress.

I don't know what the theme for the junior prom is, but last I heard the senior prom theme was 007.

ours is 007 for obvious reasons but no one actually pays any attention to it, except for the decorating committee

Phantom of the Opera.

We will have a Bollywood theme, but I have no idea nor interest how it will be implemented.

That's crazy, prom on a boat! I wish my school had the resources to do something like that. Ours is in the gym, but it's always still a good time.

I don't even think my school has a theme for prom... our theme is "get dressed up in formal clothes."

Ours is "Masquerade Ball," but nobody cares except the people who decorate.

I do, however, plan on making my date wear a Phantom of the Opera half-mask. :)
