Our senior prom tickets are kind of expensive, i think.
I went to the person in charge and she said it would cost around 80 to 90 dollars. Is that too much or too little? I'm going either way because I only get to go to senior prom once in a life time, but I would just like to know if I'm being ripped off.

Are you being ripped off, yes. Will you pay, yes.

You could always get held back.

90 bucks? I would never pay to go to a prom that cost 90 bucks! Then again, I'm Indian. So, y'know.

so I'm being ripped off. Okay, now the prom will be alot less fun. but I'll go anyway; I didn't go to any of the other parties/dances they had at school, so I guess that this would be worth going to.

You didn't go to any events at all?

Then you really really need to go to prom!

I almost couldn't make it to mine because parents were being anal, but I DID go and it was really the best night of my life. So much fun.

The fact that you didn't go to any other events is the reason WHY your prom ticket is so expensive. All those other events were held to raise money for things like prom and your class trip.

Anway, just look at the extra 10-20 dollars as the money you've saved over the years by not going to other events. It's just going towards making prom that much better.

Our ticket is usually 70-80 dollars, but my class sucks at fundraising so we're probably going to pay 80-90 dollars as well. We still have one last fundraiser, though!

Ew. I never saw the appeal in proms. Why are they so monumental? I would never go to one, under usual circumstances. Proms are a waste of money and time.

there weren't that many events anyway...halloween, christmas, formal day (something a teacher conjored while on the toilet)..that's it.
but I think I will go to the prom.

That's all you had in the past three years? We had a class-sponsored dance every year, a couple extra events, and regular fundraising like selling pizza after school and stuff.

there wasn't much fundraising in our school. (and those three were held every year..I just never went)
but the people who did, said that it wasn't fun and hardly anyone went (30 ppl maximum)

my school's prom costs like $65

so they are stealing 25 dollars from me. As if the $6000 school fees per year aren't enough...everythig at my school is so expensive. :(

I was told at a class meeting that our tickets could cost $100+ dollars (if we haven't been doing the fundraising...which I haven't). We were supposed to sell school pep rally t-shirts to be used for admission into the pep rallies or to donate money each year. But seriously, $100+ dollars? I think that's pretty expensive, esp. when you factor in poor budgeting/finance decisions and lack of good fundraising options.

Bakesales!

Get a job!

Lucky. My school $150... I seriously don't know where the money is going.

I think at my school prom is... well, I'm not sure... $50? I've never gone to a dance, and unless something major happens between now and whenever prom is, I won't go to it, either. :p I'm not a party person whatsoever. And I don't really like to spend money. shrugs I'll probably do homework the night of my senior prom. :D

who should get a job?

do homework on prom night, don't think so

Prom was $35 last year. And I really enjoyed myself. But for $90, I would seriously consider not going. Sometimes seeing people sweat like that isn't that fun.

i think that if many people objected that they could lower the price, but i'm not sure how to start something like that.
