<p>It seems like there's somewhat of a resentment to prom. So who here is going? Who isn't?</p>
<p>If not why? Is it because of cost? Or is it just too mainstream lol?</p>
<p>We had ours last weekend and I went. Had a pretty good time, too!</p>
<p>I’m the only one in my group of friends to not go. Partially because AP FLVS (Florida Virtual School) must be done by the 30th. I have half a semester to go. </p>
<p>But tbh, I’m just not a huge fan of the grind with people or just stand there talking scene.</p>
<p>I went and it was fun. The theme was Ice and Fire. And there were ice sculptures and “fire dancers” to carry the theme home. There was a male fire poi spinner and a female fire dancer. Both were hot. And the guy tried to scare me by coming close to me while I was watching. This was after he waved me over closer to watch them (because I love poi spinning and couldn’t stop watching). The best part of the night though was my group of five girls going out to Denny’s in our dresses. And avoiding the rain.</p>
<p>My school doesn’t have a prom, but I have asked girls to the last three school events (formals) and they’ve been great. Haha I put a ton of time into asking in creative ways, which makes the nights events even better.</p>
<p>Interestingly, I wrote my college application essays on asking a friend to formal last spring and it must have been well received (went 5/6 : D!). I could share the essay if anyone wants to PM me : ).</p>
