^^Yay for you, inspiration! What does it look like? My mom is taking me dress hunting this weekend. I'm pumped. If we find the perfect one, then we won't make it.

I agree with Hunt, but I'm skipping the class ring...those are too expensive and tacky.

it has thin straps and a silver top, with an empire waist and then a floor length flowy black chiffony skirt with silver flowers all over it. its nicole miller.

OOh that sounds pretty, inspiration. I'm thinking I'd like to get a mermaid-style dress. I really do like the color blue, too. Eh, we shall see.

Is it usually an older guy asking a girl or an older girl asking a guy?

it actually works a lot both ways... when i was a soph, a ton of my soph guy friends went.. but when i was a junior, a lot of guys asked soph girls.. freshman rarely get asked... there are exeptions. I'm taking my freshman in college boyfriend.. i know people who do that too.. there are a few of us..

I'm not sure anyone really cares, but I got my prom dress! I'm so excited. It looks simple, but when you put it on it's fabulous. :) I've got shoes/earrings and everything. Now I'm just hoping that no one from my school will get the same dress, haha.

An older girl asked me to bring her to junior prom, so it does happen. Off-topic: it was a horrible time. She didn't want to dance, she didn't talk to any of my friends, and she was sullen the whole time and I felt obligated to not let her just sit by herself. Ugh. I'm planning on asking someone in my grade this time.

I don't know... I kind of lost my main group of friends this year (long story) and they all have boyfriends anyway. My closest friend is going,as friends, with one of her friends that I don't know well. So unless someone asks me, which I'm not going to get my hopes of for, Iprobably won't go. I'll probably go next year. Hopefully things will be better by then.

I'm bringing a good guy friend of mine who graduated last year. :) I know it'll be fun because we have a lot of mutual friends and we have a great time just hanging out together. :)

Also, I found the dress I want! It's black but it has these little blue sequins all over it. Very simple yet elegant type thing. ^_^ Still have to buy it though.

i'm going with my ti83 calculator.... we've been through so much together.
really, i'm not going. just too antisocial for that kind of thing. but in all honesty, it sounds a little boring. what's the attraction? i'm not being "that bitter dateless girl." i just seriously don't see the appeal.
but if you like it, i guess you should go.

I think for a lot of people it's like a rite of passage type thing, inconspicuous. Plus, it's really one of the last times that your whole senior class will be in the same room like that (aside from graduation and such).

wow, chelsea, yours is EARLY. Ours is...two months from today. :)

I have a dress and shoes already picked out, but I still need to sort out the date situation- and since a bunch of friends and I are trying to get a limo, I need to do it soon, because Mystery Man might have trouble coming up with his share of the money if he doesn't, y'know, exist.

I went my junior yr and is coming my senior yr too :) It'll be fun. I got my dress and most of everything~ (My date is awesome) I applied ED and everything is over already so I'm going to have as much fun as possible.

Wow, chelsea, our prom is more than two months away, but I have a dress and everything. Well, I guess you have your priorities straight. Or is your school so busy that no one has time to think of school dances? With me, now that I can't obsess over the college process anymore because it's coming to an end, I've begun to channel my obsession towards prom. Probably not a good thing, but I really am in love with dresses.

Personally, I like dances because it's a wonderful excuse to wear dresses and get all dressed up (which I love) and I really like breaking loose and dancing to the point where I look like a mess afterwards, haha. But it's not for everyone, which is understandable. If you don't like dancing, then you just kind of stand around the table with the punch and cookies.
