Nobody says promiscuity makes someone a bad person. It's just that there are good reasons not to be promiscuous.

Yawn brought up a very good point when he posted a list of activities that some group finds objectionable. However, the majority of the objections in those cases were really due to pseudoscience or superstition. There are good reasons, evolutionarily speaking, not to be promiscuous, both in the form of social punishment (which - luckily, I believe - isn't as great now) and the physiological risks invloved.

As for animals having sex all the time, they're animals. Most of them wouldn't be able to comprehend a "meaningful" side at all anyway.

We used to have drugs, sex, and rock n roll. Now we just have AIDS, crack, and rap. I don't know which of those three is worse, but I would venture to say that if I could magically get rid of one of them, it would be rap.

Rap is horrible...it's a disgrace to human civilization. Crack is just retarded who does drugs anyways. AIDS sucks. I hope someone on CC invents a cure.

^ Not all rap is bad. Have you ever heard A Tribe Called Quest or Lupe Fiasco? I realize the majority of rap is pretty awful, but the majority doesn't define the entirety.

Hey, Muse happens to be my favorite band, so I certainly know where you're coming from. But different types of music aim at different types of things. I don't listen to metal for the same reason that I listen to country blues. I don't listen to classical guitar for the same reason I listen to orchestral music.

(Btw, I wasn't kidding about me liking Muse. I was OBSESSED for a period of about two years, and I even wrote essays about Matt's compositional style and even made covers. I was craaaiizy.)

Muse is alright. Rap used to be good in the years before 2001. The problem is that almost all good rappers sell out eventually and get assimilated into the stereotype of rap. Same thing with many bands of all genres, but especially rap it seems. Ludacris for instance - I really like some of his material, but with every album he has to include a bunch of godawful 5minutejob clubbangers.

Does anybody feel like the majority of people in your school are way too promiscuous? I mean, like, when you see a girl who is known for, ahem, "going out" with a different guy each week, doesn't that just sicken you?

It all depends on how you look at it, really. I have no problem with sex, it's the stupidity that gets me. The only reason it's disgusting is because a lot of kids aren't even being smart about it. For example, I know someone who's already had an abortion, a few STDs, and yet she still sleeps around. The guys she has sex with aren't so bright, either. All of them know this and still keep going. Stupidity breeds stupidity, literally in this case (actually, I also know kids who were born because their parents were careless in high school and they turned out brilliantly. But this is most definitely not always the case, and plus I wanted to sound clever. ;))

I say let people live how they want as long as they don't hurt anyone in the process.
