Is it possible for a school (like CMU) to ask a student to complete a Perkins Masters Promissory Note if waitlisted? OR would they ask for MPN only if the student is accepted?

Anything is possible.

Agg, how many threads are you going to start with the same question? Just be patient. Your admission decision will be arriving VERY soon and you will know your status for sure.

@thumper1 (or anyone) do you know what is the procedure in submitting a Perkins Loan Promissory Note? I think I need to do it, but I don’t have any instructions. Thanks!

You do not need to do it unless you are accepted and choose to attend.

@RunsWScissors Well, my problem is on CMU’s portal they posted another financial requirement last weekend. it says “Perkins Loan Promissory Note.” They didn’t provide me any instructions as to how I need to fulfill that requirement. I am supposed to get my decision tom. or the day after. But, are they expecting me to do it in order for them to prepare a financial aid package?

If you are accepted, you will receive instructions on your portal for loan counseling for direct and Perkins loans. Again, this is not something you want to do until you are accepted, receive your full financial aid package and choose to attend. Just chill until decisions come out and good luck!
