For the short answer is it okay if I write my essay on an activity rather than an extracurricular, such as listening to music or running for leisure?

Hi sm,

Yes, absolutely, that’s fine. I have had students who have written about running, playing pick-up soccer games in the park, cooking at home for their families, and - one of my favorite Activity Essays - doing crossword puzzles. All of them went on to great schools. Try to convey your passion for your activity in the essay. It’s a short essay, as you know; think of it almost as a love-letter about this thing you enjoy spending your time doing, whatever it is.

Good luck with your applications!

Thank you so much! Would you be willing to read my short answer and see if it is up to par with what admissions offices are looking for?

Hi sm, unfortunately since I’m a professional applications coach, I can’t volunteer to read specific essays on CC; I PM’d you to explain.
