Prompt One Help on Personal Statement!

<p>Hi everybody I really need help right now and any responses would really be appreciated!There are two things that I need help on the prompt one of the personal statement.</p>

<p>1) I am applying as a Classical Civilizations major to a couple UC's and as a History Major to other UC's. How do you think I should write the personal statement without saying I want to major in _____? How do I relate the two?</p>

<p>2) No community colleges offer the courses needed to fulfill prerequisites for Classics so how do I show that I am really interested in Classics? All I can think about the one class I took in Ancient Civilizations, my love for studying Greek and Roman History, art, philosophy, and pretty much all things related to Greek and Roman Antiquity. Also did a study abroad and go to the Getty museum quite often where I am dawn to Greek artifacts and art.</p>

<p>Well, aren't classical civilizations a part of history? </p>

<p>I think it wouldn't be too difficult to get accepted as a history major, and then change to classics, once accepted. Don't quote me on that, but at Berkeley, for example, both majors are within the same College of Letters and Science. It's much easier to change majors within the same college, than to switch out to something completely different.</p>
