How 'good' at math do you have to be to appreciate the material presented at PROMYS? I looked on the website and I couldn't really find any suggestions for previous coursework or benchmarks. I am really interested in applying for next summer (between my junior and senior years of high school), but I don't want to be stranded on the other side of the country trying to learn math that is way over my head. Also, do you have any suggestions for lower level math programs? Any help wounld be appreciated, thanks!

The application quiz will help you know if you are ready for the program or not. If you can do the application quiz comfortably, you will get a lot out of the program. If you can't finish at least a few problems on the quiz, you won't even get into PROMYS. So you really are only in doubt if you struggle to complete enough questions on the quiz and still get admitted. But in that case, you might as well go.

If you are interested in math and want to learn more than just the monotonous application of theroems, I would say you should go.

I also want to go

I was really frustrated the first two weeks of PROMYS because everything seemed to be thrown at you, but then I REALLY liked it! It was a lot of fun and the people are amazing! PM me and I could send you some sample problems
