Promys 2011

I don’t think it really matters if you type it or not. I guess it helps for legibility but there’s not much else.

My handwriting sucks, that’s why I typed them. I also figured that it would be faster if I type them up anyways.

I’m not sure how to user LaTeX (or any other math-y software) so I just wrote them…lol

Evening.
If anybody who has sent documents in early April and already got answer??

I used Word 07. I find the Equations toolbar there easy to use ;P

@dog5455 I sent mine in April 12 and haven’t heard anything back.

@bookworm101 And I sent in 4th April and haven’t heard too.

dude so i checked my email an hour ago, no response
checked just now cause i saw this thread, AND I GOT IN OWEHIRIOGIOER OH YM GODDDDDDDDD
i sent mine in after you bookworm though .__.

Good job Urc!!! I guess rejections take longer…lol :(

Did you request an email decision b/c that’s what they said u should do? Or did they just email u automatically?

I emailed them asking if they got my application, but they never responded to that. They just emailed me automatically

I checked my email today. And I saw an email from the coordinator. And then I started hyperventalating in the middle of my history class because I thought it was my decision and I was rejected. Turns out it was just her emailing me to say that PROMYS received my new answer for 1 of the problems…an unnecessary panic attack. So I guess I’ll have to wait longer :(

still no reply :frowning: … think my app is part of the next cluster because of my additional answers I emailed them?

relax, they’ll email you soon enough. no point stressing over it; i did that last year, and i ended up getting rejected (probably not cause i emailed them a bunch, but still…it was a petty big letdown). just don’t worry about it too much, they’ll email you sometime soon :)

lol spamming their inbox with emails is a risky move. you risk annoying them, but you can also familiarize them with you and also show that you really do want to go to promys.

Kunatah: Where did you decide to go? Ross? PROMYS? HCSSiM, or IDEA or other?

Hello everyone,

I’m in the 9th grade as well so after reading this thread I’m a little nervous.
I sent in my application April 4th but my teacher who was writing my recommendation sent the recommendation in April 24th, would they glance at my application before then or would they only acknowledge my application on April 24th?

They start evaluating when all your documents arrive. How many problems did you do?

I did 10 if you include #11. I hope that that’s enough for a 9th grader…
I have a friend who’s also in 9th grade who answered all the questions and got in. He told me that the only reason he got in was because he managed to get a recommendation from a really prestigious math coach. I haven’t heard back from PROMYS ever since I turned my application, I hope that that’s not a bad thing.
Also, having lots of hobbies is a good thing, right?

I got 10 (including #11) also! :)
