I've been working in my mom's company for the past 3ish years. I'm legally employed and the company does my taxes and whatnot.

Problem is, since i work in my mom's company, is there a way to prove this to colleges on the application? I mean, or else this long term work experience won't look as good cause i work for my mom?

You don't need to prove employment on your college app; it is not a job app. They are really interested in how you have spent your time/what sort of activities interest you/what perserverance you have shown if you need/want to work. Simply list and describe your job experience in the section which asks for you EC's/outside activities.

wait, where is this "description" section? is it that 250 word mini essay about your most important ec? or are you talkign about an actual app resume?

Your W-2 proves you were working. They don't ask for proof for you application for admittance, but you will have to submit this for your application for financial aid, assuming that you are doing so.

I would not list a paid job under EC's. I would list it under job/work experience. All applications usually have a small section where you can list any jobs and another section where you can list up to 6 or 8 some EC's that you do.

It is up to you if you want to use one of the essays (or mini) essay about it too.

If you aren't applying for financial aid then you won't need to submit the W-2. I already said it is not necessary for admissions, but you wanted to know what 'proved' you worked there and that would be the W-2.

i guess its not as much legal proof but make working 3 years look good... like will adcoms raise their eyebrows cause they saw i worked for my mom

If you don't tell them, they won't know that you work for your mom. Just describe your job, your commitments and responsibilities. There is no need to list your place of employment, or your supervisor.

Like others said, this is not a job application. Adcoms are not interested in who you worked for, unless it was an uber important politician or something. Just leave off anything you are worried about. Problem solved.

wait wait, i havent' started the applications yet, but my parents won't have to fill in an employment sheet/income sheet? (considering i'm not applying any Fin Aid)

If you aren't applying for financial aid, there is no income sheet to fill out. There is a short section on the common application for your parents' job titles/employers, and also one for your parents' educational backgrounds.
