Proper format for a resume...

I am just now writing out a tentative resume-and I am slowly beginning to realize I have no idea what format to follow. Is there a implied format that I need to follow with the different sections and information? This is what I have so far.

Name / GPA
Address / Class Rank
Telephone Number / SAT

Academic Awards, Honors, Recognition:

Athletic Participation:

School Activities:

Community Activities:

Employment:

Travel:

Hobbies and Unique Interests:

I just went with my instincts when creating these categories-do they need to be condensed at all? Can someone show me an excellent sample resume which utilizes a certain format that I should follow?

Thanks in advance.

your way is fine.

if its for college, i wouldnt recomend writing your gpa, rank and sat's just bc ur transcript already has it

Is there a need to metion GPA in the resume?

alright ill take it out..should member of national and spanish honor's society go under awards, honors, and recognitions-or under school activities?

school activities
