Property taxes on Fafsa?

Is there any place on the Fafsa to account for property taxes paid on your home? I only see a place for income taxes.

Thank you.

No. The income protection allowance includes allowances for certain cost such as medical costs, housing, food etc. It probably bears no relationship to what you actually pay but that is all the allowance you get for that.

here is some more detail
[FinAid | Professional Judgment | Income Protection Allowance](http://www.finaid.org/educators/pj/ipa.phtml)

There is also no place to show State taxes or FICA. Allowances for those are calculated in the EFC formula using earned income figures and tables in the formula.

You do know the FAFSA out there right now is for the current school year (2009-2010) not the next school year (2010-2011).

Thank you for clearing that up. I thought I was missing something. I am getting familiar with the form so that I know what I need when the 2010 comes out. I expect it should be similar.

lia, you might want to print out a FAFSA worksheet. It is very clear regarding what you need to complete the FAFSA. If you complete the worksheet (when it comes out for next year), it will be VERY easy to complete the FAFSA for the first time. Truthfully, once you do it once, it’s not all that bad in subsequent years.
