Haven't seen anything in the Cavalier Daily about it... though admittedly I don't get the chance to read it everyday. The proposal is actually for all VA state schools. Since I haven't found anything from the Cav Daily, you can read this one from the WM paper: WM may be 80 percent Virginians | Flat Hat News

This proposal is interesting... What about OOS students already on financial aid? Do they intend to collect the difference between EFC and 350% of instate tuition?

The comments on the article are pretty funny. Is WM that liberal or are the comments disproportionally representing the student body?

I wonder, though, if that kid had a 4.0 weighted as in all B's in honors classes (which would maybe explain why he did not get in to UVA). NOVA could just secede and make their own college for all of the Fairfax kids, lol.

is it only coincidence that the top two bills on your tracking list have to do with mental health and you are in the middle of 'reading' season? :D

:) I try to tag most of the higher ed bills. Since those mental health bills appear to be related to the tragedy at Virginia Tech (as is the bill about faculty carrying concealed weapons), I thought I'd track them.

Both mental health bills are dead. The concealed weapon bill has been stuck in committee for a while, which could be the committee's way of killing it without having to take a stand on the issue (I'm not certain about that).

thanks Dean J... I figured things like this are not THAT uncommon... it just bugs the crap out of me that the people in Richmond give less and less money to Virginia schools, and then try to put ridiculous constraints on them.

hazelorb... like 99% of colleges, W&M is a fairly liberal campus.
