<p>Yep, I know, and that's why I noted that what you said is entirely correct. People who don't know much about Columbia often just think SEAS is math/sci and CC is humanities, so I wanted to make that clear.</p>
<p>true, actually i'm looking at sustainable development, economic, political sci. i dont think an art degree would do me much good after i get out into the real world. of course, it goes that if you are good at what you do...you'll strike the gold.</p>

<p>Your favorite high school teacher loves his job and is really good at it and probably wouldn't want to do anything else, but he's likely not even making enough money to have a comfortable lifestyle (e.g., able to pay for his kids to go to a private college) -- let alone a lavish one.</p>
<p>Some jobs / industries just have more potential for making lots of money than others do.</p>
