Pros and Cons of class schedule?

I am a senior in high school, I start college June 11th...

My question is....should I take Fundamentals of Psychology or U.S history? I am also taking English Composition...

My thing is I am currently taking a psychology class, so that will still be very fresh on my mind. However, I'd kind of like to get the history class out of the way, as I'm not a big fan of history.

Which should I take alongside English? Psychology or U.S History?

Make the decision yourself. We don't know what you want.

What do you like more? What do you want to do. Personally I would do history because I really enjoy it, but its all up to what you like and what you want to do. In the long run, it doesn't really matter which one you choose, and you can always take the other one next term.
Although you should take my opinion with a grain of salt, I never really have been in a situation like this since I'm not allowed to even choose what courses I'm taking.

why can't you take both of them?

Personally, I'd go with psych because I like to vary my courses as much as possible. English and history together would have made me worry about too much (potentially dry) writing and reading. Though psych will also probably involve lots of reading, and maybe a fair bit of writing, it should be of a different type: differently formatted tests, a different type of info, different sorts of homework/projects. When I study, I like to be able to switch between fields so that I don't get too burned out on any one style of learning. Just a personal preference.

As 4321234 suggested, you could consider taking both courses (at my college, they would've fulfilled the same requirement, so I also would have chosen between the two, though not out of necessity). Alternatively, take whichever one fulfills a GE (unless they both do, in which case...nevermind). You could also choose whichever is friendliest to your schedule, or you could go on RateMyProfessors.com and choose based on professor reviews.

As a final note, sometimes people have trouble getting out of the high school mindset of "math, English, science, history." College course schedules and grad requirements are generally much more diverse. If US History is a specific GE requirement, then, well...that's that. But you've probably already studied the topic in HS, so if you're able (and at all interested), consider taking something a little less 'common' (for lack of a better word). You're likely to have more options during the regular school year, so if you're not required to take US history (specifically), then saving history might make sense because you could find something a bit more interesting to you.

If you're still torn, will you have the opportunity to meet with an advisor before you register?

Good luck :)
