Pros and Cons

<p>List the pros and cons of Trinity university please! Por favor!</p>

<p>I graduated from Trinity in 2002... Here's my input for you.
pros:
-excellent mentoring from professors
-small classes
-very talented professors who are engaged in their disciplines and eager to work with students
-rigorous without being ubercompetitive
-a large endowment means that you get an excellent bargain-- a $50K/year caliber education for substantially less tuition..
-the size facilitates students' involvement in organizations and departments outside of their major (I had roles in mainstage theatre productions without ever taking an acting class, and I took art classes that developed into a life-long hobby without being a major...)
-no TAs or grad students teaching your courses, no matter how basic
-no national greek organizations means that while there are opportunities to be part of sororities/frats, it's a much less dominant scene on campus than elsewhere
-broad-based liberal arts program prepared you to learn, develop critical thought processes, and give excellent perspective to your specialization in the major</p>

<p>cons:
most that I can think of are universal to private schools--
-there are spoiled kids with lousy attitudes
-not very diverse.. It's a pretty white school<br>
-Not great institutional connections with the surrounding city-- student groups have excellent and established efforts at volunteering, however.
-not a very well administered honors program.</p>

<p>I was very happy there, and I stay in touch with lots of friends and some professors. I'm not from TX, and I hung out with people from all over the country. Austin is close by, and it's nice to visit without having to be at UT.. For the right type of self-motivated student who cares more about learning and intellectual development than having an Expensive Name attached to their diploma, Trinity is a great fit... I work at a Big 10 university now, and when I describe its positive features to others I say "It reminds me of Trinity."</p>

<p>I hope that's helpful!</p>
