Hey!
So, I've gotten into Emerson and am currently trying to decide whether to go there or to Hofstra University. Are there any current students who can give me some honest pros and cons about going to Emerson? Thanks!

Congrats whyso! sorry, though, can't help as I'm not familiar with Hofstra.

Yours is the first acceptance I have heard...how were you notified?

What are you planning to major in?

I also got into emerson, and was wondering about the pros and cons. i want to major in journalism, and i was hoping for any tips or advice about emerson.

Let me tell you as someone who lives 10 mins from Hofstra and goes there constantly.--Please pick Emerson.

Hofstra- In the middle of nowhere, Long Island. Not much to do but drink. 99% of the population just wants to party. Throughout every college book and every student I've talked to, Hofstra appears on the bad fin aid, least happiest students, worst surrounding city, and worst town relations lists. 40 mins to get to the city by train or car

Emerson- in the middle of boston, sits on boston common, amazing radio/film/theater programs, great job placement connections, cross-registration with The boston conservatory and berklee as well as other art schools, ability to hang out with every other student in boston. The T takes you around the city

Should be pretty simple

sagecoll, thank you so much for this post. i got a scholarship to Hofstra and my parents have been pushing me to look there, though i wasnt very interested. you have been so helpful.

My D has been accepted into the BFA acting programs at Emerson and BU. Any thoughts on how the schools compare --training/reputation/alumni network?
