Pros/Cons Dropping AP Physics 1

Hey guys!

OP's brother here!

Currently, I am doing absolute diddly squat in my AP Physics 1 class. I am a sophomore at a private school that uses the trimester system. Currently there are 3 weeks left until finals for the trimester and my average in the class right now is a C. I just don't get it, either as a result of my own failure to understand or other reasons. I am not alone in my suffering! Our teacher, a MIT grad that also teaches all the other AP Physics classes, accidentally put the grades up on the board from our class and didn't realize it. The highest grade in the class was a 79! I was wondering if I chose to drop the course and pursue something else what would happen? Would colleges see that I dropped my only AP course for the year? (Our school system is set up so a majority of kids can only take 1 AP during sophomore year.) Would they think I am a slacker? I plan on taking 5 APs next year and I know I well do well in them because they are topics I understand and enjoy. Only reason I'm taking physics is because my dad wanted me to but it isn't even related to my intended major.

Thanks in advance!
