<p>The FAFSA only determines your eligibility for Federal aid:</p>
<p>Pell Max $5550
Stafford loans: $5500
State aid: If your state gives it
Federal work study : if your school has it to give
Perkins loans: if your school has it to give
SEOG: if your school has it to give</p>
<p>CSS Profile</p>
<p>Institutional aid Monies directly given by your school.</p>
<p>You may end up getting more money in institutional aid than you would receive in federal aid</p>
<p>Profile asks for a lot of info that FAFSA doesn’t and schools that use it are free to do with that extra info what they want since it’s their own money they’re giving away based on it.</p>
<p>(Some schools give their own money away using FAFSA only but as you’ve learned, some also want Profile).</p>
