pro's&Con's of re-doing my 10th grade year?

Shel here.! Okay, so I'm applying to some boarding schools, and I was wordering about everyones opinion on possibly re-doing my tenth grade year, and if I dont, will it be difficult to keep up durring my next year? Also what are my chances of getting into a good school? my GPA dropped bad durring my freshman year, because my classes were so easy I'd get sidetracted, bad. When it comes to my nwea's and necaps , I do amazing, (3 &4's on necaps every year I've taken them, and NEWA'S are above grade level) , so I dont think the SSAT's will be an issue.. and all my profesionalism grades are great, (A's &B's.) . Oh, and I go to a public school (not a very good one... ) , i've been to 9 schools, all public, but do you think it will be a difficult transition . oh and lastly, any tips for getting my GPA up ?

Oh and sory ahead for typo's ..

I think you should do it, there arent really any cons…

The big “con” is that your family will have to pay for one more year of tuition.

Here are two additional factors to consider:

Do you want to start college a year later? It may not matter to you now. But think how you will feel if your friends back home begin college while you are a senior in high school.

Repeating a year is perfectly acceptable among those who attend prep school as well as those who are knowledgeable about prep school, e.g., college admission officers, etc. Keep in mind, however, that those who lack that knowledge often incorrectly associate repeating a year with academic failure. Unfortunately, this latter group includes most people.

Good luck with your decision.
