I just need some hardxcore info....social? will it be weird being a 1st year with a bajillion 2nd years?!

"will it be weird being a 1st year with a bajillion 2nd years?!"

no. the second years who want to be anti-social will be anti-social. the second years who are nice and want to be social will mingle with you. i'm a first year living in sproul and it's been a great experience. another great thing about that is that they've all been experienced about UCLA already, so you can ask them questions and ask them for advice. in terms of overall socialness, it is moderate compared to all dorms.

kfc4u...my friend who has lived in sproul for 2 years says that many of the 2nd years want Sproul or Dykstra...why? is it just location? also if you don't mind, will you rank the halls in terms of socialness (to the best of your knowledge =-D)

sproul and dykstra are very close to campus (like how de neve and sunset are) and close to multiple dining halls or eateries. that's why they're more popular than rieber or hedrick, although i think just the proximity to campus is already enough to make them more popular. the 2nd years who want more social activity go to dykstra and the 2nd years who want less social activity go to sproul. in terms of socialness:

dykstra > hedrick > rieber > sproul

but all res halls > de neve or sunset
