Pros & Cons of Starting in the Spring

Hey there. I've been considering starting my Purdue education in the Spring of 2011. What are the disadvantages and advantages of doing so? Am I able to take courses at community colleges until then? Do I still have to submit my housing app by May 1? Will I end up graduating later? If not, will I have to increase my course load?

Thanks in advance :D

Disadvantages: You miss out on the bonding that people have in the Fall

Advantages: No idea

Speaking from personal experience.

advantage - you start in spring, not in fall
disadvantage - you start in spring, not in fall.

Advantage: The season goes from winter to spring
Disadvantage: The season goes from summer to fall to winter

Disadvantage: The awkward “Im new and I dont know anyone here” stage that you will feel in the spring, your classmates got gotten over that a semester ago.

Advantage: Your going to the school of your choice??? (Hopefully)

Real advantage unlike the rest: You can get a job and get a head start in paying for college.

Disadvantage: People may have already made friends, probably no double dorms available so you’ll have to stay in a single.

Freshman oreintation might not be as well put together as it was in the fall because not many people start in the Spring which would make adjusting to campus difficult.

i’m also starting in the spring as a transfer at UT. i’m nervous too.
