UCLA- good overall.... smallest UC campus in acres
UCSD- really good in sciences and good overall... close to beach
UCI- good overall.... park in the middle of the school... 10 mins to beach... only UC in OC... close to Disneyland
UCSB- Right on beach... party school... good academics
Cal Poly- good in specific majors... best cal state... good "name"
SDSU- party school... known for sports... academics?

87 views and no other responses... did I hit the spot that well?!

sounds right on to me!

DO NOT even consider SDSU or Cal Poly over UCLA. There is no comparison. SD is the only possible competition against UCLA

UCLA- great social/academic school, but very small/crowded
UCSD-relaxing atmosphere, good science school..but socially dead(i think?)
UCI- good school overall..but commuter campus
UCSB-academic/social life are great/close to beach..but STD capital of the world (sorry i had to throw that in.i know its not true)
Cal Poly-one of the better csus..but kinda in the middle of nowhere
SDSU-also one of the better csus, big party scene

In Ranking (overall includes academics, social life, location, resources, research opportunities, "name"):

UCLA - amazing academics and social life. best overall school if you like larger populated areas/cities. amazing location - cool but competitive student body

UCSD - amazing science school. other majors are kinda limited. socially dead. amazing location but student body is very cutt-throat and "strange"

UCSB - amazing academics and excellent social life. very nice area and more relaxed student body.

UCI - great academics but it's a commuter school so social life is kinda scarce. it seems like UCSD's little brother (good in sciences, bad in social life) but the student body is much more relaxed.

Cal Poly - I ranked SLO 4th (tied w/ UCI) for one simple reason: it's a CSU. UC schools are way better in terms of resources (money, research, etc) and "the name."

SDSU - Great overall school (esp. business) but can't compare with the schools above. social life is great.

I have friends at all these schools and have personally visisted the (besides for SLO). I was accepted to UCSD, UCI and UCSB (only applied to these 3) and decided to go to UCSB.

^^^UCI is ranked higher than UCSB, according to US News and World Report

they are generally the same in academics.

however my ranking is different. in case you missed it the first time around, overall includes academics, social life, location, resources, research opportunities.
