pros/cons

What are some pros and cons of syr? To current students, what do you like most/least about syr?

The thing that concerns me most is the WEATHER. I mean I live on Long Island in NY, but the temperature here is pretty temperate. Hows it like in syr? Is it a huge factor? How are the winters/summers?

snows for 6 months. predominately overcast weather.
you might want to check out www.theu.com and search syracuse.

Syracuse is a LOT colder and a LOT snowier than NYC or LI....Summers are warm without being too hot.

so i guess you don't need a ac anytime soon

ok put weather aside, bc u can learn to deal with anything. I like my classes, I like my newhouse classes best. If you liked pep rallies in hs, you'll love going to the games. If you want to be a journalist, well, every time I'm newhouse I marvel at how fantastic it feels to be there. There are just a ton of opportunities available.
If you're going to be overwhelmed by the amount of kids on campus, yes, joining groups makes the campus feel smaller, but honestly, it will never have that cozy liberal arts feel to it.
You can seek out really challenging classes, or you could probably get by with just one or two really difficult classes each semester.
See, SU is big and diverse. It really is what you make of it.
