Pros/Cons

There are a couple of places within an hour of Bloomington to ski.
[Nashville Indiana Ski World](http://www.nashville-indiana.com/recreation/skiworld/ski.html)
[Paoli Peaks ::Directions](http://www.paolipeaks.com/directions.html)

This one is the best one in the southern half of the state, but it is at least two hours away from Bloomington, about twenty miles west of Cincinnati.
[Perfect North Slopes - Ski and Snowboard](http://www.perfectnorth.com/)

two hours doesn’t seem like much to ask for good slopes. The idea of taking a weekend holiday at the slopes appeals greatly to me

I’m from Texas too and the winters suck in the beginning, but you’ll get used to it and you will think 60 is warm by Spring. Also, buy winter boots…I tried going through snow/ice on regular running shoes and it didn’t work out too well.
