Tell me what you love, and what you hate.

Pros: Financial Aid, Good-looking people, General atmosphere of the campus, beautiful campus, perfect location, superlative education, and prestige.

Cons: None

cons: too damn pretty.

thats pretty much the worst i can say about princeton. ;)

Then again, how much can we say about it? We haven't actually attended yet, lol.

Yeah true, lol watch you guys come back in three months with about 50 more cons. (That definitely won't happen)

bring on the Pros!

Could you expand on the "too damn pretty" comment? Are you referring to the campus or the students (or both)? If it's the campus, could you describe it? Thanks :D

lots of trees, gardens and greenery, very picturesque. beautiful gothic buildings with ivy all over.

the thread should be pros vs. lack of cons...but then it wouldn't be vs...

Hey, what if you're not too pretty yourself? Then good-looking people isn't as much of a pro....

i remember thinking when i visited princeton that it had a very attractive student body, or at least from what i could see at the frist campus center. that pleased me. i remember thinking wesleyan had an ugly student body, but they seemed a little 'hipper' than princeton students. either way, princeton kids are pretty. :)

Dang it. Does that mean there's a lot of pressure to be pretty? Because I'm pretty much solid opposite (pun totally intended ;) )

oh yeah they lock the ugly kids up in cages. ;)

Hope the feed them every so often...you know, whatever's left over...lol ;D So how's the surrounding area (i.e. 10-20 mi radius) look? Beautiful with trees, or concrete crack houses? (btw, I can't visit so that's why I'm asking)

It's all beautiful. Princeton is an upscale town with shops, restuarants, and everything else your heart desires. Picture what you imagine stereotypical New Jersey to be like, then picture the opposite... and that's Princeton.

cons, you have to fill out applications to do anything...seemingly. Though I'm not sure if this is a princeton-specific con.

It is an ideal college town. Nassau street is actually quite safe and friendly. Perhaps a bit expensive, but that is another story.

The campus is wonderful. They spend more money on shubbery than the GDP of small countries I would imagine. Of course Lake Carnegie is not the nicest lake in the world, but it is meant for rowing not swimming. You swim in the reflecting pool... lol

I would say the biggest con is a lot of the (essential) stores arent really in walking distance from campus (unless you want to walk like 30-40 minutes). Stores like best buy, walmart, target and other stores you prolly need a car to get there unless you feel like walking a good distance. The stores that surround campus arent really stores you would go shopping at all the time.

I wouldn't want to walk to Target though. Route 1 is impossible to get by without a car in my opinion. I would get hit and end my days at Pton rather quickly. Driving would be a little better, but then again this is New Jersey. :) True about the stores in town though. Most are not really the big supermarket things, but rather small family run bussiness or small chains. But, you can always hop on a train and go to New York for a day. Can't beat that.

Yea I like that too, jacquesier. I'd rather be within easy access of New York and Philly (hour by train) than actually living in either big city.

Another pro is that everything is so open to you. Research/independent work with profs is encouraged. They toss money at you if you have a good cause. There's the opportunity to do any EC you want. There are so many opportunities to go overseas and study abroad or do internships. The pre-med office is very helpful and thorough (more so than Yale or even the accelerated med program at Northwestern). It's just open open open.

Con: Byerly seems addicted to posting on our CC board. (;) I'm totally kidding.)
