when they say SAT is optional, they mean that
but some say that in fact they still have the assumption that since you do not want to submit, it could be that you didn’t score very well. It could reflect.

Does Bates accept December SAt scores? On their website I found: Results must be sent by the testing service and received by the appropriate application deadline (January 1 for Fall enrollment). I got a 1870 score on the first SAT ever took in my life and I took the test again in December. I feel that I did much better. Do they accept December scores?

Okay so, my SAT verbal and writing scores are definitely in Bates’s range, but my math score is a little below what they look for. Should I send my SATs in anyway? I’m just trying to figure out if it would help or just hurt my chances.

i actually don’t know. it’s up to you whether you wanna send or not.
I took SAT only once, and I did badly for my CR and WR. That’s why I thought I should not submit my SAT score.
let’s see what will happen to me in a few more days.

I haven’t got anything, both mail and email

but i checked my account on Bates website (which i don’t think will post the decision up there) and it said that “The Bates admissions status check interface is presently closed for data backups.
It will reopen at 4AM Eastern Time.”
