Hi there, this is my first post on CC. I am a junior in high school and plan to major in computer science. One of my top requirements is that the school is in a warm location.

I've taken the SAT twice.
1) 760 R / 740 M / 730 W = 2230
2) 670 R / 790 M / 790 W = 2250
Superscore = 2340

My unweighted GPA is 3.73 as of the beginning of junior year, although I expect it to go down just bit. Unfortunately, my high school does not weigh GPAs.

I'm looking for any warm schools with good comp sci programs: likelies, targets, and reaches alike.

So far, I'm particularly interested in UT Austin. I'm an out of state student so it would probably be a likely/target. I visited and really enjoyed my time - more so than any other university I've visited. They also have the Turing Scholars honors program for Comp Sci, which I don't know too much about yet.

I am also interested in UC Berkeley. Once again, I'm an out of state student. However, I have heard that the UC schools are having trouble with money right now and, consequently, their intro class sizes can be upwards of 1000 kids. Is this accurate?

Thanks
