Prospective FinAid for ED2 Student

Hey, I'm probably one of the only kids that got into GW this year on ED2 that has yet to recieve my financial aid package. I had to send and re-send, and fax, and re-fax, many documents to GW, and finally they said they have all my required information about 2 weeks ago. Hopefully they mail it to me soon.

But I am kind of nervous, because if I am not able to afford their offer my other options for colleges have basically closed. I am expecting a generous financial aid package, since I am coming from single parent household, in which my dads earnings for the year totalled $9,800. He gets free housing accomdations since he's a night manager at a hotel, so I'm sure they'll take that into account. I didn't receive any scholarships from GW, so I'm looking at the $52k right now until I get my aid information.

I know GW is very fair with financial aid, I was just wondering what you guys think GW is going to offer me, will it be affordable, and how much will I most likely have to pay.

Thanx, I'd appreciate any help or input.

I don't think anybody can really say, because, although there are numerous Federal programs available (outside of the usual gamut), criteria for them differs. You may have certain aspects of your financial aid report that make you highly likely for some, and perhaps less likely for others. At this point, all you can do is cross your fingers; you may get $20k, or you may get $52k. Still, when you do find out, please report back - I'm in basically the same boat as you when it comes to money, and would love to have some numbers to know if GWU is at all viable for me

I personally was somewhat disappointed with my initial aid package that I received in January (I was ED1). However, my parents appealed the package and went down to speak to the Financial Aid office around April, and they gave us significantly more money.

That's crazy that you still haven't gotten your package though. Good Luck!
