hello!

i'm currently in a CC (PBCC) and i'm planning to transfer to UF once i get an AA (60 credits). I come from a foreign country so I had no idea what requirements classes I needed. I just did a lot of research and I found out that taking "any" 2 science classes isn't the optimal way to go as my college stated; I found out I have to take physics 1 2, chemistry 1 2, calculus 1, 2, 3, etc.

My problem is that when I got here I had no idea how GPA worked, how "class forgiveness" worked and such; everyone kept telling me that I could retake classes and replace the bad grade because almost everybody was applying to FAU. Now I found out that my dream school, UF, does not accept class forgiveness and I got a D in Calculus 1 which discourages me enormously. So far my grades are: A A A A A B B D. (respectively, 2 astronomy classes, english lit before 1800, 2 AP spanish classes I took in high school, ENC1101 and ENC1102 3.05 GPA without counting the 2 APs because I haven't submitted them yet). I'm currently taking Macroeconomics and Art Appreciation and I'm pretty sure I'll get 2 A's there.

As I stated before, I have no idea how UF measures GPA; i'm not sure if they just measure all the 60 credits' GPA or only the requirement classes' GPA that they state in their website. So basically my question is: "Does my D in Calculus 1 completely screws my chances to making it into UF even if I retake it and get a B or an A? Considering I will get an A and a couple of Bs, to be realistic, in the required classes."

I'm sorry if it's too much information to absorb, my advisor isn't being very helpful since they don't have UF information in their files. Thanks!
