ADVICE: I don't know whether I should apply to CAS as an AEM major, CAS–Econ, or into the ILR school and was seeking any advice. I'm interested in working for a financial consulting firm post-graduation.

What are my chances of getting accepted to Cornell, and do you have any suggestions?

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

TC

Yes you should apply, you have good grades in college. Just knock your essays out of the park and make sure you do the pre-requisites.

As for whether you should apply to CAS, CALS, or ILR, it’s really up to you; just research which school you like the most.

I agree. Apply. Your post has a good tone. Seems like you’ll have a good essay. Make it interesting, make sure to answer - really answer - why you’ve chosen your career path. Get great references & beef up on volunteering. You sound like a great candidate.

I think you will have good chance for all the colleges. For Cornell I would recommend you applying to either Cas or IRL. Cornell AEM is very strict on the prerequisite and it seems like you didn’t fulfill the requirement. The applicants who fulfilled all the requirements and recommendations are the most competitve applicants, so I would not recommend AEM.

College rankings for finance options:

1.AEM (obvious choice)
2.CAS
3.ILR

AEM is the solid choice.I choose CAS but I have no intention of going into finance. If you have more diversified interests i.e. law/policy ILR would be great too.
