Hi everyone. I got accepted Monday morning and was not really expecting it, but now that I'm in, my college selection has been complicated. Could you list some of the pros and cons of NYU based on your own experiences?

Congratulations! What school did you get into?

Got into Liberal Studies!

A lot of it depends on what you’re looking for from a school.

doesn’t have a traditional campus - so it’s up to you whether or not you want a campus with trees and grass, etc.

Has one of the largest study abroad programs of any University

Inn’t the best for financial aid, unfortunately

Excellent location in the Village

Provides an excellent education in almost every area of study

Typically described as a college for more independent students who can handle things on their own; the environment at NYU is very different from the environment at other schools

Mostly, it comes down to what your personal preferences are and, without knowing those, we won’t be able to help you all that much.

Also accepted to NYU LSP and…Hunter is giving me a full ride on a special scholarship. What should I do? NYU is a lot of money…:(

Hunter. NYU you will be mortgaging your life for.

Hunter, definitely. Take the full ride. You will not regret it!

@stalmadge5194, just wondering, but wat r ur stats? (:

Well UTK’s campus is not exactly the most scenic either so the campus isn’t a huge factor for me. As long as I’m in a reasonably friendly school environment (obviously the city is a somewhat different story), I don’t really care what it looks like.

Here’s my basic resume (copying from a different post of mine):

Race: Caucasian
Unweighted GPA: 3.928
Best Composite ACT: 30
Best Composite SAT: 1900
School Type: Magnet School
School Size: About 240

Class Rank: Our school eliminated class rank besides the top 10, and we don’t find out until the spring, but I would gauge that I’m in the top 15-20%.
