Prospective NTU/NUS Applicants...

Kashiva: I think the perspective depends a lot on which school you come from, as well... the statistics are certainly off-putting, and when you consider RJ and HC have so many more people with 4As than the other schools... yep.

I heard that in the NUS Law cohort that matriculated in 2008, there were TWO people from Anderson, while RJ and HC made up for over half the cohort.

Hey guys! I am applying for financial aid at NUS but the financial aid website doesn't open after page 3 of the financial aid form. Anyone else having the same problem? It hasn't been fixed in more than a week now, and I am getting nervous about the deadlines! Help!!

How difficult is it to get into Comp Sci or Comp Engg as an international student? Just as in US, the people who come from the school which does not provide APs, are they disadvantaged from those coming from APs. A levels and IB and all that?

I'm Korean and stay in Indonesia. Studying at an international school and an IB Diploma candidate... Well, is Economics a strong major in NUS?

am sure vaishu,u ll get in

u need not be afraid. if u gain admission they will automatically provide financial aid if u need and don bother about deadlines. let it go…first admission is needed …!!! can u get wat i mean

Annamalai!
You have joined this as well! You are really following me! hahah! Thanks for your encouragement! I’m sure you will also definitely get in!

@vaishu12

What are your stats with which you applied?

Oh, I also applied to these two school!
Current status: Admission processing!

^ Mine’s the same. Will admission chances be affected if I apply for aid?

How do NTU/NUS compare to Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian Institutes of Science? Are they known for good undergrad programs in physics?
Also do they value APs by Indian students if you mess up your school 11th grade exams(81%)?

I’m pretty sure they don’t look at your 11th grade scores;)

and regarding your 1st question…its quite controversial…its tough to choose…IIT is core learning,but facilities might not be world class

Here are my stats:

I study in an international school in Bangkok, Thailand…So I don’t have boards/CBSE…etc

SAT 1: 2050 (670 Math, 670 CR, 710 Writing)
SAT 2: First Time: (620 Chemistry, 720 Physics, 670 Math)
Second Time: (710 Chemistry, 730 Physics, 620 Math)
arghh…will this second time math score affect me terribly!!! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:
Rank 5 out of 60
Overall GPA: (Weighted) 4.0479/4

What are your stats??

I was wondering the same thing!! I haven’t applied for financial aid yet because I was wondering if it would affect my application…I thought it would be better if i apply for financial aid after going there…What do you guys think…?
Where else have you guys applied?

P.S. Even my application status is “application processing”

@ the game
nothing like tat man. if you have applied for financial aid,am sure it wont affect ur admission . so go ahead

@gary7
nus/ntu are far better than iit. getting into iit is very tough but survival over there is very easy but getting admission as well survival is very tough in ntu/nus

@vaichu
am not following u :slight_smile:
your sat2 math score has pulled u bit down… anyways hope for the best :)

How do I register for that Singapore Airlines Scholarship? I expect the registration is closed for now???
And what should be recommended stats for NSU/NTU?
(SAT/ACT/AP/school grades/Olympiads/EC)
Does competition differ from course to course?

The SIA NOL scholarship?
Once you apply, you are automatically eligible for all the scholarships (except the ones that are only for singaporeans…)
Recommended Stats:
