Prospective Seas students at Upenn

I'm going to be going to SEAS for either CSE (CIS), CTE or EE. However, 1st I have a question. Is the Computer Science and Engineering program at UPenn ABET accredited? I need to attend an ABET accredited program for one of my ouside scholarships. Also when are we going to get our UPenn email account. I put in my deposite yesterday. Finally, are the residential programs worth participating in. I don't really feel like writing an essay but I don't want to miss out on anything.

cse is pending abet, the rest have it (except dmd and materials I think)

First off, Yay for you choosing penn! :) I don't know when we're getting ABET.. might want to email the chair or something.

As for email accounts, you should be getting them fairly soon.. I know my facebook profile says I signed up May 16th, so that must be the day we got them last year :)

As for residential programs, if nothing is overly interesting to you, don't bother.. I'm not in one and don't regret it at all.. they're certainly the exception, not the norm.

Dual major in Bioengineering and Computer Science
Is this a crazy idea?
Is it possible to be accomplished in 4 years?

Crazy idea, chan. I'm a Digital Media Design major (just finished freshman year), which is computer science major + art + a whole lot of other stuff. I know that BE is very difficult and time consuming, and I know from experience that CSE is the same. Crazy idea. In fact, in my opinion, I think all of the engineering majors have crazy amounts of work, plus not a lot of electives. That's why I like my major because i still get a BSE but 3/4 of my total classes are in the college.

Does anyone have questions about CSE or DMD ? I'm gonna be a peer advisor next year :)
